Setup & Firewall Guide
PrismScan works by creating a direct link between your phone and your computer over your local Wi-Fi. Because it simulates keyboard input, your operating system needs your permission to let it run.
1. Windows: "Unknown Publisher" Warning
When you first run the Windows version, you will likely see a blue "Windows protected your PC" popup. This is normal for new software.
How to fix it:
- Click the small "More info" text.
- Click the new button that appears: "Run anyway".
2. Windows: Firewall Permissions
For your phone to find your computer, the firewall must allow the connection.
- When you launch the app, a "Windows Security Alert" may appear.
- Important: Check the boxes for "Private networks".
- Click "Allow access".
3. macOS: Accessibility Permissions
On Mac, applications are not allowed to type text for you unless you explicitly allow them.
- Open the PrismScan app. macOS will prompt you to grant access.
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
- Find "PrismScan" in the list.
- Toggle the switch to ON.
- Restart the PrismScan app.
4. Ubuntu / Linux Setup
After downloading the file, you need to make it executable:
chmod +x PrismScan_Ubuntu
